Does Curb Appeal Make A Difference?
Curb appeal makes a huge difference! What is curb appeal? Curb appeal is the attractiveness of your house as it is seen from the street.
Your level of curb appeal, or lack of curb appeal, is going to have a major impact on the price you will be able to sell your house for and can help you set your house apart from the competition.
In this article lets discuss a few of the reasons why curb appeal is so important and some of the things you can do to easily improve your curb appeal.
First Impression
You never get a second chance to make a first impression and the outside of your home is the first impression that any potential buyer will get when they pull up!
If the outside of the house looks unkept and messy, potential buyers will likely assume that this is the way the inside of the house was kept as well. You don’t want to work super hard on making the inside of your house clean and beautiful only to have that image ruined by a poor outside appearance.
Sets The Tone
You want buyers happy and excited to see your home but if a buyer gets a bad first impression of the house from an unappealing front yard or drab exterior of the home, this is going to set the tone for the rest of the showing. They will look for other things wrong with the house, even if they’re minor; they’ll point out small cracks, crooked wall outlets, not enough windows.
On the other hand, if they fall in love with the outside of the house, they will often look for justification on the inside of the house to love it more! Not enough windows? Good for privacy! Look at these cabinets! That should be plenty of storage!
Sell Your House For Top Dollar
You want to sell your house fast and for as much as you can for as much as you can, after all, you worked hard on it! If a buyer falls in love with the house from the moment they arrive, they are more likely to be willing to put in an offer and even pay a higher price.
Remember, your buyers are picturing what it will be like for them to live in this house and what it will be like to pull up to their new home at the end of every day.
If you can present your buyers with a property that gives them a great feeling as they pull up, create a sense of the pride of ownership that they will feel when this is their house then they are much more likely to want to buy that house.
Easy Things To Do
Curb appeal does not have to cost a fortune to get checked off your to-do list. Making sure the grass is nicely cut and edged, trimming all your bushes, and picking up any trash lying around will have your house looking clean and well cared for.
For the cost of a can of paint and a couple of hours, you can touch up the exterior paint. A quick power wash on the driveway and sidewalks can remove years of dirt and grime and really help the exterior of your house shine.
These things and others like them can make a huge difference to the curb appeal of your house and all this can be done without spending a fortune.
Make sure you that you do the little things right so that your house will shine from the outside and you will be proud to show off your curb appeal!
I hope this helps!
